- Put medium-large sized pot on stove on medium heat and put oil to a bit of a sizzle.
- Add rice (a tiny bit more oil on top), sofrito, Adobo, garlic, Sazon, mojo, and olives. Mix well and cover for 6 mins. Stir on and off so rice doesnt stick to pot..
- Add gandules (put liquid from can in rice too) and water. Mix well. Boil cover for about 15-20 min or until soft..

First of all Arroz con gandules is made with white rice. You can make it with brown rice but it will then not be considered by anyone to be authenthic in taste. Being Puerto-Rican myself, arroz con gandules without salt is unheard of. Which is probably why some of you said it came out bland. This recipe is MSG free (No Sazon or Bouillon) and it is delicious.
